Jury Duty day 3 & rest of the classroom pictures

Today, I once again had to sign in at the court clerk's office.  I sat for about 3 hours listening to questioning during the jury selection.  I asked various questions and was ultimately sent home due to my husband's job in law enforcement.  I guess it helps having a husband who catches crooks!  I knew there was a reason I liked men in uniforms. haha!

I have been trying to finish up my classroom.  I do not like to wait until the end.  We, teachers, are suppose to report on Monday, August 16th.  We have open house on Tuesday, August 17th.  Here are the rest of my pictures...

My calendar wall & word wall are complete!

Day 2 of Jury Duty and working on classroom

Today was day 2 of jury duty.  I called this evening after 5:00pm and was told to call back tomorrow after 5:00pm.  I guess it is going to be a day to day waiting game.  Yeah, I am soooo lucky.
I have been getting my room ready for back to school.  I thought I would post some of the pictures.  We are doing a jungle theme this year.
I think my kids are going to love reading books in the giraffe tent.  I got the tent last year from Target.  Tomorrow I will post some pictures of my word wall.

Jury Duty & new idea

Today I received summons for Jury Duty.  So far it is a waiting game.  I wish the waiting would get over because there is only two weeks left of summer break.  What is a girl to do!  New literacy center organizational idea...Take pictures of the different steps to complete an activity.  Then make direction cards for your little ones to complete a task.  I saw an idea like this one on J Meachem's website.  Her website is awesome if you haven't already found it.

enlarge to see better.
I made several cards for each of my literacy activities.  This will allow my students to have a visual direction of how to do a certain activity.
